I have learned some things that I wish I knew earlier 1) there are maps, 2) I can summon things using ashes, I heard of summons but I always thought they were spells 3) you can mark the map. 4) you can craft. 5) The whetstone thing

I agree, even though it’s a little goofy when an intense scene involves the block handed Cloud; the fact that Squaresoft were able to create such an impactful story regardless of the animations level of realism or lack thereof is a testament to its lasting legacy and overall quality..

I have NEVER heard so many non Japanese speakers all of a sudden learn how to say “hesitation is defeat” in Japanese. Badly. And while it is somewhat cool that they went out of their way to learn it, it became cheesy and overused.

Very wise review. Games aren't just about a nonstop diet of pleasure, its about drama and challenge. Sunless skies ended up being much less interesting for this, having you twiddle your thumbs with boring busywork between destinations rather than truly just motoring in a straight line, although I think a lot of the encounters in sunless skies are pretty great.
